December 10, 2008 Tyler Open MRI hosts Salvation Army Blanket Drive
The cool temperatures of winter often make us all eager to find the warmth and comfort of a blanket during these frigid times. With that in mind and realizing the challenge for some in our community to weather these conditions, the warm hearts of the people at Tyler Open MRI has been hosting a blanket drive for The Salvation Army. Tyler Open MRI's Chad Crow orchestrated the blanket drive and gives this reason for helping The Salvation Army:

We saw a news story in October of this year about The Salvation Army’s short supply of blankets. The nearly empty blanket bins pictured was the inspiration behind this idea for Tyler Open MRI.

This was a successful first year for this event and will become an annual event in the future for Tyler Open MRI and The Salvation Army.

Salvation Army's Captain Zach Bell reminds us that for some, having a warm place to stay and adequate winter clothing is a daily challenge. “With the recent chilly temperatures, The Salvation Army will see the arrival of more people in our shelters. This blanket drive will not only allow us to be better equipped to assist the homeless, but it’ll also lend a hand for us to help others in our community,” states Captain Bell.

Tyler Open MRI will present the blankets to The Salvation Army at their office tomorrow, December 11th at 11 a.m. The office is located in the Albertson’s shopping center at 1904 Loop 323 in Tyler.
